Easy setup, with no programming!

Customers tell us that the #1 feature that they love about Dewesoft, it how easy it is to design the screens that they want, so that they can see the data exactly as they want to see it. Just click the DESIGN button, then add whatever objects you want onto the screen, drag them into place and resize them, and put whatever channels you want into them. Yes, it’s really that easy. Click SAVE and type a name for your setup. Each setup contains every single parameter of operation, from the sample rate to the settings for every input channel, and all your screen designs, math channels... everything.

Multi-domain measurements

What does that mean? Imagine that analog data is a domain, and CAN BUS data is another one. So is video. So is infra-red, and GPS, and PCM data, and ARINC.... how many systems can record all of these “domains” simultaneously and in sync according to a master clock? Only Dewetron. That’s what we mean by multi-domain measurements. Taking in everything you can throw at us, and recording it all, in sync, every time.

Powerful on-line features

Built in to Dewesoft is a really robust MATH section, which allows you to create your own math channels. So you can multiply channels together, in the simplest example. Or use the trigonometric, algebraic, and boolean functions that are included. Also part of this section is a convenient “basic statistics” function which allows you to click the channels you want to process and the check off the stats you want for each one, like min, max, average, rms, standard deviation, and several more.



Sometimes you need a highly tuned filter which is not included in the hardware side -- you can create it as a math function! Make a filter up to 10 poles, at any corner frequency(ies), in band-pass, band-reject, low-pass, and high-pass ... in Bessell, Butterworth, or Chebychev protocols.

When you use any of these math functions in Dewesoft, it does NOT affect the raw channel! It just makes an additional, new channel! So you always have your original data to refer back to.

Plugins for specific applications

The base Dewesoft package is immensely powerful and easy to use, but it can’t do everything. For example, what about 3-phase power measurements, with all of the complex calculations that need to be made on each group of samples, to derive things like power factor, active power, harmonics, THD, and more? Or what about order tracking, which is a kind of angle-based measurement? Or torsional vibration? Sound metering? FRF for modal analysis?



Rather than make DEWESoft overly expensive, we have created each of these special applications as an “add-on” or “extension” which integrates seamlessly into Dewesoft. Easy data review on-screen, to other formats, and to paper

DEWESoft’s analyze mode is where you can load any datafile and replay it on the screen, take measurements, and export to other file formats.

Making print-outs

You can also make print-outs in seconds, to any printer - local or networked - and in full color on regular paper! Everything on the screen prints, including video windows and every kind of graph and graphic.
You can even do multi-page strip chart print-outs across a few pages - or a thousand. Select the amount of time per page that you want in seconds, minutes, or hours.

On-screen analysis

Use the on-screen cursors to zoom in and out on recorded data. Cursors also allow you to take measurements right on the screen. You get the time delta between the cursors, plus the amplitude values and delta calculation in engineering units, for all channels in that graph.

Copying and pasting graphs

In the analyze mode, you can click a graph and then copy it to the clipboard, then alt-tab and paste it into your report. It’s just that simple. We transfer the graph to a Windows metafile, against a white background, perfect for report generation.

Exporting to other formats

If your data contains video, it is often useful to export the data as an AVI video, which anyone can play on their computer. In this case, Dewesoft exports the data area of the screen as a movie! You can even select the size, frame rate, and compression that you want to use.

Free Viewer and License-free Analyze mode

Did you know that no license is needed to run Dewesoft in the Analyze mode? That means you can install Dewesoft also on your desktop computer, for more comfortable off-line data review and report generation. Plus, you don’t tie up the acquisition system to do analysis! What’s even nicer is that there is a VIEWER application, which contains only the analyze mode in the first place, so it is much smaller, and there is no license screen at all.
