Advanced data analysis, simplified

There are some incredible data analysis software tools on the market today, which provide amazing capabilities. The trouble with most of them, however, is the long learning curve required to even get to first base with them. Our customers are primarily test engineers and technicians, who need to make a measurement - they don’t have time to learn a new programming language or complex application.

Enter Flexpro - a powerful tool, but with a user interface that that resembles Excel. Everyone knows the chart wizard in Excel, and that’s exactly what it looks like in Flexpro. Making analyses, including advanced filtering and frequency domain plots, is easier than you can imagine. Just right click the name of the channel, and then make some selections from the context menus.

That is why we chose to offer Flexpro with our systems, and we integrated easy and automated export capabilities into Dewesoft, to support it. Getting your recorded data into Flexpro is just a matter of making a few clicks. And using our ActiveX interface you can even create and manage Flexpro templates and automate the export of data into them right from the main Export screen in Dewesoft.

What’s New in Version 8?

Starting October 2008, Flexpro 8 is available. This is a bold new step forward for Flexpro, offering many new advanced capabilities. Here is a brief overview of what’s new:

• 
  The new "Object Hierarchy" window helps you keep even better track of your projects. It presents objects in a hierarchical structure. This helps you easily keep track of which objects are directly or indirectly linked to each other
• FlexPro's new Dynamic Help offers you a variety of help topics covering the selected object or the currently active workspace
• You can continue to work while FlexPro calculates analyses or updates the preview in the background
• The improved navigation in FlexPro 8 offers you several options. For instance, you can switch from an object to the folder where it is stored, from a coordinate to the displayed value in the data set or from a legend entry to the data upon which it is based
• The new FlexPro 8 Properties window offers an improved layout thanks to a variety of special controls and displays additional useful information in popup windows.
• You can create analyses for several data sets in a single step.
• FlexPro memorizes your settings, which you specify using the Diagram Wizard, and creates new diagrams based specifically on your preferences.

Better tools for interactive analysis

• Use data cursors in up to 16 diagrams at the same time
• Optimally arrange your diagrams in worksheets by dividing planes any way you like
• Set markers to appear in all of a diagram's views
• Use the mouse to zoom in the X and/or Y direction
• Use the mouse or keyboard to translate curves in the diagram plane
• Exclude individual curves from cursoring
• Use harmonic cursors with variable octave spacing and read their values directly in the coordinates window
• Add custom coordinates to the coordinates window. In addition to a variety of pre-defined coordinates, you can use your own FPScript programmed coordinates

FlexPro 8 helps you process larger volumes of data in less time

• FlexPro 8 uses the latest multi-core processors by parallelizing computation and update processes

• The 2GB data set size limit has been removed. FPScript can now process data sets with data lengths as high as 64-bit
• FlexPro 8 can save all calculated results in the project database thus preventing recalculations when the project database is reopened. Data links to external data will cause recalculations only if the file content has changed
• You can "freeze" analysis and presentation objects to explicitly prevent recalculations from occurring
• The new "For Each Value" loop in FPScript lets you quickly traverse all values of a data set

FlexPro 8 safeguards the quality of your analyses

• FlexPro 8 prevents many errors from occurring by checking whether data types and structures of selected data are valid when new
• objects are created
• The new FPScript Editor adds color to your FPScript code for identification purposes and assists you with powerful assistance windows when entering function calls, for instance. All information and options are displayed on the spot, eliminating the need to open a Help window
• With the new fully integrated FPScript Debugger and Watch Window, you can always keep track of your analyses when performing tests
• In FlexPro 8 projects you can protect every object from manipulation by making it read-only.

FlexPro helps you create impressive presentations

• Use the new function for dimensioning a curve to include boundary lines, perpendicular lines, tangents, dimension lines, symbols or tolerance bands in
• your diagrams
• Create expressive diagrams in scientific style with orientation arrows on the axes, data series indexing, curve labeling, special scaling for logarithmic
• axes, display the physical unit in the axis scaling and much more
• Use individual axis and legend labels for each curve of a diagram
• Use your mouse to set the height of individual diagram planes with stacked Y axes
• Transfer the formatting of one element to another with the click of your mouse.

Take advantage of the new analysis procedures in FlexPro 8

• The "Event Isolation" analysis object has been completely revised. Additional events are now available, and you can logically combine several events or
• search for sequences of different events
• FlexPro 8 offers "Peak Fitting" as a new analysis procedure in the Analysis Wizard
• Use the new "Human Body Vibration" analysis option to analyze whole-body and hand-transmitted vibrations. Human body vibrations occur when a
• person is exposed to mechanical vibrations. The analysis procedures assist in evaluating the dangers resulting from these types of vibrations
• The "Acoustics" option offers a new analysis object that you can use to calculate loudness based on ISO 532 B / DIN 45631 standards
• The "Counting Procedures" option now also calculates the Rainflow matrix in asymmetric format
• The "Spectral Analysis" option's two new spectral procedures known as Peak-Hold Spectrum and Peak-Hold-STFT Spectrum let you analyze non-
• stationary signals. FlexPro can now replace the time in the Short-Time Fourier Transform of a ramp-up with the relevant current speed
• The "Digital Filters" option now also includes the CFC filter and signal smoothing in the Analysis Wizard, and the Analysis Wizard can now display
• diagrams for amplitude response, phase response and group delay when performing IIR filtering
• The FPScript programming language has been expanded and offers more than 20 new data analysis functions
